PJ Powers is a teacher at the Parker Education day school. PJ teaches a variety of subjects, including science and math, to both middle and high school students. During his days at Parker Academy, he can be found chatting with students about their day, or exploring the outside nature with one of his science classes.
PJ grew up locally attending elementary and middle school at St. John Regional in Concord, and it was while attending Bishop Brady he knew his calling was to teach. PJ received his Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Keene State College in 2007, and his Masters of Science in Education Degree from The University of New England in 2012.
PJ has been teaching since he graduated from Keene State, but really credits his first teaching moments to his work at Camp Fatima in Gilmanton Iron Works, NH.
“It was in those hallowed grounds in Gilmanton where I found my natural calling to teach others” says Powers.
Before his time at Parker, PJ has taught a variety of students in a multitude of subjects, in a wide range of settings. These include one on one tutorials, outdoor learning experiences, and large classroom settings. PJ can be reached by email during the day, and is available for tutoring on a limited evening basis.
“There should not be any particular teaching. Teaching is in each moment…” ~ Shunryu Suzuki
