Anne Eaton is an Orton-Gillingham and LiPS trained reading tutor. During many years of work as a vocational rehabilitation counselor and later as a workers’ compensation administrator, Anne repeatedly encountered very bright adults who simply could not read or spell. This problem severely limited their ability to make necessary career changes. Several years later, Anne’s young daughter had difficulty learning to read until she began to work with a wonderful Orton-Gillingham reading tutor. It was their work that inspired Anne to train in the Orton-Gillingham method and later in the LiPS (Lindamood Phonemic Sequencing) program.
Anne holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Services from the University of New Hampshire. She is affiliated with the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators and certified at the Associate level. A member of the International Dyslexia Association, Anne is currently serving as President of the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire Branch of the IDA which serves Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Anne is the author of a collection of controlled text stories designed for use in Orton-Gillingham tutorials. The stories were purchased by the Garside Institute for Teacher Training at the Carroll School in Lincoln, MA; publication is anticipated in 2015.
Anne lives in Concord with her husband, Jerry, their frisky young dog, and a remarkably tolerant tabby cat.
